Contemporary conventional wisdom says not all of us can be artists. Linking an older wisdom to personal experiences, Pixecol believes many, many more of us can be artists, with good effect.
"There is a chief way
for the production of wealth, namely,
that the producers be many and that
the mere consumers be few,
that the artisan mass be energetic and the consumers
temperate."
Confucius
translated by Ezra Pound
The cultivation of artists (broadly defined) and further development of local, regional and internet art, craft, and music markets and exchanges are important aspects of the turn to sustainability. Pixecol is committed.
As artists, we practice giving good attention
to our surroundings and our own imaginations, which are free and unlimited.
Attending to them and striving to make something of quality from them, we steadily
quiet the clamor of suggested wants and needs that distract more than they satisfy and
cumulatively drive pollution and ecosystem destruction to
threatening excess.
Pixecol provides instruction
and coaching for development and integration of ecological consciousness,
imagination and image-making skills. You need not be located in eastern Massachusetts.
